Satellite TV Receivers
Satellite TV Receivers can be best described as "signal tuners". They receive information from the LNB and convert it to a frequency, which is
displayed on your television screen. This allows you to tune to different TV channels. Receivers have a number of great features as
well. They pick up a programming schedule signal from the provider and present this information in an onscreen programming guide known as an EPG.
Many receivers have parental lock-out options, and some have a built-in digital video recorders
called a DVR, which let you pause live television or record it on a hard disk drive which is HDD.
Satellite TV providers, known as DBS, continually update the technology for the consumer, including home receivers, if for no other reason than
to keep up with the
competition. Remember that this is going to be the main viewing devices of the world. What you'll see are receivers with High-Def and
Digital video recording DVR capability
in addition to the standard satellite TV receivers. The competition is on going with the companies developing more and more high tech devices
that enable better viewing for the
consumers.
There is a Dish Player that is a dual-tuner satellite receiver. This device combines the power of digital video recorder (DVR) technology with
the ability to receive and record
high definition television programming directly from the dish network and off-air digital broadcasts. There are so many degrees of receivers
available. Having more then one
receiver in a home or as a package is very common. This enables all the TV viewers to watch their own channels. Soon the little box that
gives a viewer reception with a use of a card insert will be a push of a combination button. This then will be a whole new concept in satellite
TV technology.
